Cirrus Logic Selects CeltIC, CadMOS’ Crosstalk Analysis Tool

Company will use CeltIC prior to design sign off at 0.18m.

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Sep 4th, 2000—CadMOS Design Technology, Inc. today announced that Cirrus Logic, Inc. has purchased CeltIC, CadMOS’ crosstalk analyzer, to check for coupling noise problems in their future standard cell based designs.

"Coupling noise is a critical issue in ultra deep sub-micron design. At 0.18m we will have to perform coupling noise analysis before we can sign off the design," said H. Ravindra, VP Advanced Technology and Business Development. "We evaluated three commercial noise tools. CeltIC stood out by demonstrating high accuracy, impressive runtime and intelligent glitch screening capability."

"Crosstalk has a major impact on both the delay and functionality of cell-based designs at 0.18m or below," said Charlie Huang, CEO of CadMOS. "CeltIC augments the traditional standard-cell based design flow by finding and fixing crosstalk related problems prior to tape out".

About CeltIC

CeltIC tm is an advanced crosstalk analyzer for digital CMOS ICs. It analyzes cell-based designs for changes in delay or functional problems caused by crosstalk. It reads extracted parasitic data from any commercial extractor in SPEF or DSPF format and outputs noise induced delay changes in SDF format for feedback to static timing analysis. Additionally, CeltIC can fix crosstalk problems and generate ECOs for place and route.
